A Management graduate brings with him more than 27 years of work experience in building Retail Asset Lending portfolios – both Secured and Unsecured with the last 8 years being in the Micro Finance business to the customers who are at the base of the pyramid & are unserved by formal financial institutions. Recently held position as Head of Business and Part of Senior Leadership Team at Suryoday Small Finance Bank Limited. His prior experience has been with LOK Capital, Cholamandalam Investment & Finance Co. Ltd., HDFC Bank and Development Credit Bank.

An Economics, Law and Management graduate, he has close to two decades of experience in the financial services industry. A Successful entrepreneur, Co-founded Fusion Micro Finance in the year 2009 and served as Director – COO, and make a successful exit by selling his take to a US-based PE Fund in 2016. His prior experience has been with ICICI Bank, GE Commercial Finance and his last assignment was with DCB Bank as Head of Mortgages. He has founded Tweedle Technologies, a solution providing Employee Engagement Solutions to the organizations to fight climate change.

Himanshu Joshi

Mr. Himanshu Joshi has over 4 decades of hands-on banking experience across India and retired as the Executive Director for Oriental bank of Commerce (now Punjab National Bank (PNB)) in 2018. He served as the General Manager of PNB, he headed the treasury department of the Bank with investment book size of INR 250,000 crore. He has also headed MP and Chhattisgarh States as part of his GM tenure with PNB. He was also appointed as the Chief Compliance Officer of PNB, conceived the idea to strengthen compliance culture of bank and spearheaded the job of creation of robust compliance infrastructure setup of 500 Circle Compliance Officers & DMLROs. Also, redrafted Compliance Policy of the Bank and created MIS, Roles & Responsibilities of compliance Professionals. He holds a graduate degree in Commerce and is a Certified Associate at the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (CAIIB).

Radhey Shyam Garg has over 40 years of long experience in the field of housing and housing finance. He worked as law officer with IDBI till Feb '89. On establishment of National Housing Bank in 1989, joined as Manager and held several key positions and rose to become its Executive Director in November 2011 and superannuated in April 2017. Has also been member of various Committees and Groups set up by NHB and Central Government in connection with promotion of housing in the country. Has made significant contribution in various areas for the growth of housing and housing finance in the country. He is also a practicing Advocate at Delhi High Court and corporate consultant in NBFCs/HFCs regulation and mortgage finance. He has also worked as sector expert in an Advisory Committee set up by Sa-Dhan with support of DFID for engaging MFIs to scale up Affordable Housing for the EWS.

Mrs. Vijayalakshi Shankar has 35 years of experience in Development Finance and Management. She joined NABARD as a Grade ‘A’ officer in 1988 and worked at the Corporate Centre in Mumbai and Regional Offices in Lucknow, Trivandrum and Chennai. In Feb 2022, she retired as Chief General Manager of NABARD. During her tenure in NABARD, she had let several turnaround strategies of Cooperative Banks and Regional Rural Banks and also headed the Micro Credit Innovations Vertical at the Corporate Centre. She is a triple master holder with a Master’s Degree in Development Management from Asian Institute of Management, Manila, Philippines. She was also a faculty member for five years at Bankers Institute of Rural Development, Lucknow.

Mr. Anurag Agrawal is a Partner at Aavishkaar Capital since 2015 having diverse experience in areas like Impact Investing, Investment Banking, Microfinance/Financial Inclusion etc. Anurag has been part of the founding team of Group Company, Intellecap and last served as its CEO. He set up and built the Aavishkaar’s Investment Banking Practice with a specific focus on assisting early and growth-stage multiple bottom-line enterprises to raise capital. Anurag has the unique distinction of working with most of the leading microfinance institutions in India and has helped many of these institutions in their fund-raising efforts. He was also one of the key architects of creating the current structure of the Aavishkaar Group and led the efforts of the Group in the incubation and acquisition of the 3 NBFCs (IntelleCash, Ashv and Arohan) within the Group. Before joining the Aavishkaar Group, Anurag worked with the Cash Management Services Division of ICICI Bank. Anurag completed his MBA with a specialization in Finance from TA Pai Management Institute, Manipal.

Avishek is a Member of the core investment team of Amicus Capital with a focus on investment in the financial services sector. He has over 15 years of experience of which 10 years have been in private equity and buy-side advisory. He has been extensively involved in the sourcing, evaluation, execution, and post-investment management of companies in this sector. During the last 5 years, he has evaluated over 500 investment proposals in the financial services sector and has been very closely involved in the consummation of investments in three companies in the financial sector to date. Prior to joining Amicus Capital in 2016, he has worked across multiple organizations including Faering Capital, Ernst & Young, and Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited. He has strong academic credentials with a post-graduate degree in management from the Indian Institute of Management (Ahmedabad), a Rank Holder in CA (Final) and CA (Foundation) exams conducted by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, and the first rank in Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) examinations conducted by the University of Calcutta.

Mahesh is a Co-founder & serves as Partner at Amicus Capital India. Prior to co-founding Amicus Capital, Mahesh was a Managing Director in the Asia Growth Capital team of The Carlyle Group based in Mumbai. During his ten plus years at Carlyle, Mahesh led investments across sectors such as technology, financial services and consumer. Before joining Carlyle, Mahesh worked for EY in their Corporate Finance Team for four years where he was closely involved in M&A engagements in the technology sector. Mahesh also worked for Arthur Andersen in their Tax and Business Advisory Group for four years. Mahesh received his bachelor’ Degree in Commerce from Bangalore University and is a Chartered Accountant (ACA) and Cost Accountant (Grad CWA).
